Father and Sons Together Resource & Outreach Center
a safe and empowering space for underserved community members

Fathers and Sons Together (FAST) is a Black-led non-profit organization that provides services and community events to underserved BIPOC families in South Seattle. Schemata Workshop was initially contacted to design a tenant improvement for their offices in a newly constructed mixed-use building with affordable housing. However, during the design process, it was realized that the space was much too small to accommodate their needs. Schemata Workshop worked closely with FAST to develop a building program for a new Resource & Outreach Center. The programming effort resulted in a design for a 15,000 sqft facility. Deliverables created included a building program based on interviews with the leadership team, a conceptual floor plan, criteria for site selection, a cost estimate to establish a project budget, and artist visualizations for fundraising and advocacy purposes.
