Our firm takes its name from the plural form of 'schema' or framework. For us, a well-conceived schema is a big idea that stands up to project realities of scope, schedule, and budget. Our thoughtful attention to this early effort establishes an exciting and clear concept, and a linear and streamlined process of design documentation and construction administration.

With over a decade of experience and leadership with architecture firms in Chicago and Seattle, Grace Kim and Mike Mariano founded Schemata Workshop, Inc. in December 2004. The studio is a vibrant workspace, built upon a foundation of mentorship and transparent collaboration within all aspects of the profession. We strive to attract and retain self-motivated, creative individuals who share our passion for the practice of architecture and the improvement of our communities.
