Mike Mariano (he/him) is a founding partner of Schemata Workshop. His personal and professional focus is on elevating the experience of living in and moving through the Cascadia region. Civic and personal well-being are intertwined, with thoughtful design helping to build social cohesion and community resilience. His design approach is interdisciplinary and collaborative, engaging the entire design team for high-performance buildings and environments. Mike is a past co-chair and current member of the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict Steering Committee when this neighborhood was recently certified as one of the first EcoDistricts in the nation under imperatives of Equity, Resilience, and Climate Protection, and also chairs the AIA Seattle Committee on Adaptation & Resilience. Mike is a founder and developer of Capitol Hill Urban Cohousing, where he lives with his family, and works in the street-level commercial space in a transit & pedestrian-oriented community.
